WOUNDED HEALER MINISTRIES

The Development of One’s Divine Potential / Human Person
A Road of the Wounded to Healing

Wounded Healer Ministries is one in which Fr. Ken Deasy, an ordained priest of the Archdiocese, contributes to the local church and world a “hands on” ministry of support for everyone… people in the pews or not in the pews, pastors, pastoral associates, parish communities, businessmen/women, husbands, wives, individuals and groups for an actual faith development of the Spirit within itself and its memberships. This would entail giving and inviting personal individualized support, staff/faculty/leadership activation, pastor support of current parochial trends that are difficult to communicate, expectation reversals or renewals and attempts to comprehend and reconcile a current experience of God, Self and others to a more “traditionalistic” community, parish spiritual missions, reconciling the tensions between religion and spirituality, stewardship assertion and promotion and, of course, meeting the demands for preaching, teaching and ministering to the ministers

Life Coaching: In today’s world there are many who struggle with the voices directing them to be anything but themselves. These voices are rooted in gender expectations, former religious expectations, unhealthy views of self, God and others… the list goes on and on. Unfortunately, it is hard to be “true to your self” with “the voices of being everything else but yourself” ring louder in volume and degree. As an athlete needs coaching to learn the tricks and mechanics of sports and/or physical fitness, many need coaching to direct, inspire and be motivated on the road to true freedom, peace and truth.

Spiritual Direction/Development: Providing particular communities and/or their particular leadership time for spiritual reflection on current themes and concerns evidenced in their ministerial and/or personal lives. This is usually executed on a daily or weekly basis. The results have been a positive and proactive realization of a more loving face of God, Church and self. The ministry has been realized by parish and school staffs, parish communities, specific support groups, etc.

Spiritual Healing: To implicitly include in every talk, presentation and/or conference an enthusiastic and affective reality of God, Church and Self; to awaken in others the reality of such a God in whose image we have been created and within one’s Church this is to be fostered and/or shared.

SPECIAL FOCUS: So many Catholics and exCatholics feel so wounded and unloved by God. Their concept of GOD is incredibly sad BECAUSE of how they’ve been treated/abused by religion!

Parochial Support: Providing the specific leadership of particular communities/organizations support and back up of current themes and movements of Catholic ministerial life that would enhance the flow that has already begun that may be experiencing the regular obstacles of outdated Catholic presumptions.

Pastoral Coaching: Providing parish staffs and leadership with ‘hands on’ experience and creative tools/implementation-process of such experiences. This support could range from financial planning, governing board empowerment, fund-raising, theological upgrading, etc.

Priestly Mentoring: Providing personal, professional and fraternal support to those priests who are seeking/struggling with believing in a healthy priesthood, who are feeling alone on the “road less traveled” and who need a confidential contact with a church-assigned cleric-of-support

Ecumenical/Public Relations Agent: For the purpose of providing a positive experience of Church, God , Self and priesthood I will continue to make myself available to those secular groups and avenues of media who are looking for fresh and up to date Catholic expressions of faith and dialogue.

PARISH/PARISH STAFF EMPOWERMENT… i.e., it’s not about “the ordained” as much as “of the baptized” Fr. Ken’s special fondness is backing up those relevant pastors and their parishes with the validation of their own Holy Spirit particular to them as “a community” ; the Body of Christ of… ” He will take you to the place you wish to go and will actually provide you with experiences and steps that will certainly come your way. IN ADDITION, as Fr. Ken says, “If you “get it” just a bit, you must be approached by the minister with consolation… you’re going to need it.
